Weekend Scholarship

Since 2014, we have run a project call Karuna Kitchen; where we provide a free Khmer class to poor kids in the community at the week and provide a lunch at the weekend for around 10 kids. The kids we choose to join the program mostly live in hard condition, small renting and dirty house, alcohol, and gambling environment. All of the students who join our program mostly got that kind of behavior. The first class when they join us, they make noisy, call each other in bad words, fighting and didn't respect to their teacher. We are try hard to make them change, but it take time to do that. Around 5 months after study with us, they change a lot. They come to study often, respect each other and teacher. However we need to train them more for their better life.

When we moved to new location in late 2014, we really don't want to lose them and we still want to help them. So we decide to open weekend classes for them. we bring a group of them to KYC location to learn, eat and sleep there for 2 full days. When they get there, they have more opportunity to learn Khmer and English language, computer, morality and new ways to live as normal kids in Phnom Penh. Imagine, a poor kids who even didn't have opportunity to learn at public school, has a chance to study Khmer and English subjects and also computer skill and live in a good environment. How interesting they are? For sure, they are really enjoy and learn a lot from this weekend program. However we don't have much fund to support all of them. We choose 3 students to join this new program with us and it's spend a lot in order to help them. We need your help, we are not only want to provide them a weekend program; but a full scholarship to live and study there for every days. We can't make it happen without your help, If you want to help this program running well and help more kids please consider give the donation. we are really appreciate that. You also can choose a sponsor kids option, so you can follow up with them.
