Board of Directors



1. Board Chair: Mr. KIM SAV PHEARITH

SAV PHEARITH KIM from a normal family lived in slum areas, Phnom Penh. He worked with an NGO as a volunteer to help promote about children's rights since he was 12years old. When he started college, he worked with some NGOs in Phnom Penh to provide Education for poor children in rural area. Understanding about poor child's life and needed, in 2011 he was running Karuna Youth Club with his team to provide Education to poor youths and children in Cambodia. After graduated from Royal University of Phnom Penh, PHEARITH was working with Sustainable School International as a scholarship student coordinator. Beside this, he still helps involve with the Karuna Youth Club as a founder and president. (Some people have said “… they will help their country when they are old enough, have own job, enough money, and sustainable family...”If you have that thinking, you will wait for your whole life because you never know what happened in the future. If you want to do something, please don’t only think but must take action and start from now…) PHEARITH’s opinion.


2. INTERNATIONAL RELATION: Mr. PELLEQUER GAETAN

PELLEQUER GAETAN, from a modest family living in France. He studied hard for working as an engineer, but he had the chance to benefit the french system for his studies. He was president of an association of musicians who organized some concerts for helping poor people. He married to a girl of Cambodian origin, Chantrea. Her parents left Cambodia during the Pol Pot Regime and they have been welcomed by the France. Thanks to his Cambodian family, he learnt to know Khmer culture and this wonderful and welcoming country. But he saw a big poverty in Cambodia, and then he wanted to do something to help poor people. Thanks to the charisma of Mr. Kim Sav Phearith, he knew more and more about the Karuna Youth Club and wanted to support this NGO. He had been touched by the actions of the Karuna Youth Club and by the kindness of its members. In 2013, he joins the board of directors. When he sees the faces of poor children who are helped and supported by the Karuna Youth Club, he thinks about his own children, 2 years and 6 years. And he wants to do his best to help these Cambodian children who need support for having a better future, the right to adequate food and a good education. 

3. BOARD DEVELOPMENT: Mr. KHORN KUNGKEA


KHORN KUNGKEA from big farmer farmily. With 7 sibling his parents had no ability to send him to university in pp. After waiting his parents said that they will send him to university without hope he suddenly decided himself to come to pp alone and find and found a dirty place to stay in the slum area along the railway track in pp he was not able to study at university for the first year because he had no money so what he could do to earn a living was. Working as waiter, delivery, motor taxi driver.....While he was working kungkea was looking for free school to study English so he had found several of those schools and got the chance to learn English for free he spend 6to 8 hours per day learning English while he have to make some small money to feed himself. One year after he has been supported by EYC who pay kungkea school fee at a university. He is studying year four at Cambodian Mekong university major management. As he had so many difficulties in his life kungkea decided to join at Youth Club called Karuna Youth Club in order to help to support and share experiences of poor children and youth who need it.

4. BOARD MEMBER: Mr. ERIC CHUK

5. TREASURE: Miss. SENG SOFA

Miss. SENG SOFA from a small family with 2 siblings. She original from Bonteay Meanchey province. She has been involved with KYC since 2012 as a members. She has no experience with accounting, but because of her heart and willingness to help improved KYC she try all her best to learn somethings new as a treasure. She is graduate last year in majoring Law from Royal University of Law and Economic. She feels proud herself to be part of KYC.  

6. SECRETARIAT: Miss. SENG SONA

Miss. SENG SONA from a small family with 2 siblings. She original from Bonteay Meanchey province. After got house scholarship from Karuna Youth Cambodia, she failing in love with KYC's activities and decide to be part of the team. Before joining with KYC, she doesn't know anything about the volunteer and social work. Now she improved a lot and feel thankful to KYC for give her a best opportunity for her to learn and grow forward. Working by learning, now she feel good with her position as secretariat.
